“Three hundred brands from nine states are here to present new releases, expand contacts, and do business with qualified visitors from all regions of the country,” highlighted Cíntia Weirich, president of the Furniture Industry Syndicate of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) at the opening of the 25th Movelsul Brasil – the largest and most complete furniture fair in Latin America. The event takes place from August 17 to 20 in Bento Gonçalves (RS), featuring exhibitors of mass-produced and custom-made furniture, mattresses, upholstery, decor, and services.
In addition to visitors from all regions of Brazil, Movelsul expects to welcome importers from 40 countries. The strong presence of foreigners looking for “Made in Brazil” furniture is one of the fair’s strong points. “Movelsul is a reference in exports, and this differential gains even more weight at a time when many business owners are seeking new commercial partners, especially in South America,” comments Cíntia. Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, and Colombia are the countries with the highest number of confirmed importers for the 25th Movelsul, confirming the business opportunities in the Latin American market.

During the four days of the fair, exhibitors will also be able to connect with visitors from Europe (such as Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, and France), North America (the United States, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, and Canada), Africa (Egypt, South Africa, and Congo), and Asia (India, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates).
FURNITURE SECTOR LEADERS
The official opening event of the 25th Movelsul Brasil took place on the afternoon of Monday, August 17, attended by exhibitors, leaders, the press, and guests. “It is a great satisfaction to be here in Bento Gonçalves for the opening of Movelsul, the fair that has become one of the greatest showcases of the furniture industry. This shows a region’s capacity to undertake, transform tradition into innovation, and knowledge into economic growth,” said Claudio Bier, president of the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs).
“One of the most important showcases of our furniture industry. The Brazilian furniture sector is broad and diverse and is present in all regions of the country. A production chain that generates employment, income, innovation, technology, design, and opportunities,” summarized Irineu Munhoz, president of the Brazilian Association of Furniture Industries (Abimóvel).

WHAT AWAITS VISITORS
One of the main novelties of this edition is the 360° Retail Stage (Palco Varejo 360°), a space for free lectures in Pavilion A aimed at retailers. With the participation of Mercado Livre, Sebrae RS, and ExpoEcomm, the schedule covers topics such as e-commerce, marketing, management, and national retail case studies. The programming is rounded off with the Retailer’s Happy Hour (Happy do Varejista), an evening event with live music and gastronomy on the 18th, starting at 6:30 PM, with invitations distributed by exhibitors. The Happy Hour is supported by the Salton winery, which will provide wines and sparkling wines to toast to good business.
In Pavilion E, Movelsul Conecta brings together custom furniture, corporate furniture, decor, and services companies. The space hosts the exhibition of the 27th edition of the Salão Design Award—the most traditional furniture design competition in Brazil, which this year will feature 116 designer products—and the Knowledge Arena (Arena do Conhecimento), with lectures on trends, innovation, and behavior. Among the confirmed names are Bruna Galliano (trend and color researcher), Thais Trentin (Workplace Corporate Architecture), and Ricardo Cappra, a data scientist who brings the perspective of artificial intelligence to consumer behavior in the furniture sector.
