The largest furniture fair in Latin America, the 25th Movelsul Brasil will gather about 200 brands of furniture, upholstery, mattresses, and decoration at the Parque de Eventos in Bento Gonçalves (RS) between August 17 and 20. Besides the new releases from the main national manufacturers, those visiting Movelsul will be able to see up close the exhibition of the 27th Salão Design Award – one of the most traditional furniture design contests in the country. This year, 116 products signed by professionals and students will be presented, highlighting the 27 winners in different categories.
The director of the Salão Design Award, Priscila Manfroi, reiterates that the contest is a catalyst for opportunities for both the industry and designers. “The Salão Design Award transforms creativity into opportunity, showing, in every edition, that the market is constantly moving. For those who create, it is a chance to see a project gain recognition. For the furniture industry, it is a source of innovation,” she comments. “It is an award that inspires, connects people, and points to real solutions for demands such as technology and large-scale production, in addition to valuing sustainable choices and cultural influences,” she adds.
Made possible through the Rouanet Law of the Federal Government’s Ministry of Culture, the exhibition will be located next to Movelsul Conecta, in Pavilion E, which brings together exhibitors of custom-planned and corporate furniture, decoration, and technology for architects and designers working with furniture projects. Another attraction of the space is the Arena do Conhecimento, which will feature speakers such as Zanini de Zanine (designer), Paula Fiorentini (architect specialized in healthcare), Bruna Galliano (color and trend researcher), Ricardo Cappra (data scientist), and Jaime Portugal (architect and speaker on management).
